Every day that passes, another revelation comes out about how deeply involved the federal government has become in spying upon and oppressing rank-and-file Americans. And we ask, "Can you believe that?"
Our question is, "When will you believe it?" And when will we realize that the kind of authoritarian control that the Obama administration now is attempting to exert has come up to Biblical standards.
In short, America has become a tyranny similar to a few of the worst kingdoms in the Bible. If you recall, God ultimately restored justice by using Israel's armies, or other means.
The continuous stream of revelations takes our breath away: as word comes out about how the IRS has actually been persecuting Tea Party groups, as word comes out about how the Justice Department has been criminalizing the work of honest journalism, and as word comes out about how the Obama administration got a judge to permit the National Protection Company to monitor telephone information on tens of millions of Americans who just register for Verizon Wireless.
Even the secular information media, long the lapdog of liberal views and Obama, is getting restless and grumbling about the president's lack of transparency and propensity for abusing authority and even his blatant undermining of the Constitution.
In fact, the evidence is frustratingly obvious that there is no respect for personal information in this world anymore. Government has actually become practically omniscient, at least in a secular way, watching its citizens every move.
And so do you know what the next step will be? It's pretty obvious. Some government - or tyrant, or dictator, or some other power with access - will begin using all of this data to impose the ultimate control on global citizens, to restrict our freedom in the marketplace so that we'll be forced to bow to whoever is on that throne.
The Bible calls it "the mark of the beast" in Revelation 13:16-17. God gave the prophet John a vision in which the beast "forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name."
Are you ready to stand up for your freedom? Since the time to do so is closer than you think. Even a month ago, nobody would have thought that we would be hearing the type of disturbing news that we hear today?
